Gabion baskets are free-draining retaining walls that are constructed by filling large galvanized steel baskets with rock. Gabion cage walls are in many applications the most cost effective structural wall available.  

Gabion cages are Hexagonal mesh open such as 60x80mm 80x120mm 100x120mm 120x140mm 140x160mm 160x180mm 180x200mm etc.  
Used galvanized steel wire  2.2x2.2x2.7mm 2.2x2.7x3.4mm 2.2x3.05x3.4mm and pvc coated galvanized wire 2.2/3.2 x2.2/3.2x2.7/3.7mm , 2.2/3.2 x2.7/3.7x3.4/4.4mm, 2.2/3.2 x3.05/4.05x3.4/4.0mm etc. And other sizes Such as : 2.0mm 2.2mm 2.4mm 2.7mm 3.0mm 3.2mm 3.4mm 3.9mm etc.  

Gabion baskets are available in a variety of different sizes. They come in 0.5 or 1 meter high, and 2, 3, or 4 meters long.  Such as 2x1x1m 2x1x0.5m 3x1x1m 3x1x0.5m 4x1x1m 4x1x0.5m etc. There are several types and colors of rock available from common river type round rock, to multi-colored light and dark fractured rock.

Flexibility is an important benefit of any gabion structure. Since the baskets are constructed of galvanized mesh wire and filled with rock, the flexibility of a gabion structure allows it to withstand pressure without deforming, cracking or breaking as in the case of concrete and other materials. There are very few limits when it comes to the construction of a gabion wall. Walls can be constructed following grade along a road, tapered on top to follow changing elevation or terraced creating stunning flower gardens that can flow over the wall.
